ABOUT THE AUTHOR
V Lyric Parker was born and raised in Atlanta Georgia to a single mother. She grew up in Atlanta's poorest communities and she completed Frederick Douglass High School, participating in the marching band's flute section. She went on to Atlanta Area Technical College and graduated as a Medical Assistant but held a career as a Pharmacy Technician for K-mart and CVS Pharmacy for over 12 years.
She began performing as a local rap artist and spoken word diva, and became a regular at some of the poetry spots such as: A-Hop Social Corner and The Royal Peacot. When her job with K-mart folded with the store closing; she began writing her memoir-novel, "Who Has Lived My Life?", selling over 400 copies through self-publishing.
Later, its title would be changed to "The Darkest Gray" and she became a published author with Belletristic Press of Long Island City, NY.
V Lyric Parker hopes to serve as an inspiration to others dealing with depression and childhood abuse. She still lives in Georgia with her 12 year old son and 2 year old daughter.
